Poynton have today confirmed that Jon Hudson has been appointed as the new manager.
Hudson will take over from Ed Haslam who stood down at the end of April due to work and family commitments, after just one season in charge.
Hudson had been in charge of the Reserves since September 2017 and was delighted to be given the opportunity to step up to 1st team manager.
“I am very proud and honoured to have been given this opportunity, I have had a fantastic three years with the Reserves and this now feels like I can continue to develop the quality we have at this club. This club has been a big part of my life, from playing junior football here as well as cricket and tennis for the Sports Club – I really can’t wait to get started”.
Chairman Mark Warburton added “I’m pleased to announce that we have appointed Jon Hudson into the position of First Team Manager. Jon has had a successful three years managing the reserves and is best placed to carry on the great work that Ed has done, continuing to integrate the very good young players we have and the strong 1st team squad we already have”.
Hudson will take charge of the team for the new season which will start when lockdown is over and the Government and the FA have given full permission for football to start again.
