With the country on the brink of another lockdown and Greater Manchester in Tier 3 it has proved to be a hugely frustrating month for Poynton.

After a brilliant start with a 1-0 win away at Daten it’s been three frustrating weeks for Poynton and a fourth one expected this weekend.

Firstly the weather played it’s part with the home derby game with Whaley Bridge postponed after three days of heavy rain and then after the Government placed Liverpool and then Greater Manchester into Tier 3 games against Billinge and Crewe were also postponed.

With Broadheath Central scheduled to travel to London Road this weekend their Tier 3 status is likely to see this game also get postponed.

Manager Jon Hudson has spoken to poyntonfc.co.uk and shared his frustrations.

“It’s a difficult time for everyone and football was a big part of helping people find some normality and to have it taken away again has been a big blow.

The Cheshire FA have worked so hard to get us playing and unfortunately decisions out of their control have stalled the season. We hope to be playing again soon!”

With the clubs big Cheshire Cup game away at Knutsford on November 7th already postponed there is no idea when the 1st team will next be in action.
