MATCH REPORT

Poynton Reserves put on the worst display of the season to lose for the first time in the Cheshire League Reserve Division for the first time since the end of August.

Broadheath looked hungrier, fitter and showed a clincial side to their game going into a 3-0 lead despite the visitors having more possession.

Goldrick pulled a goal back just before half time and Poynton enjoyed a decent spell but never looked like getting back into the game.

Two late goals made the scoreline flattering for the home side but they deserved the three points and can still challenge for the title with leaders Eagle Sports, although Styal are still in the box seat.

What could hamper them is the dreadful playing surface but the home side are definitely moving in the right direction.
